L & J.G. Stickley Chair

$325.00

IN-WAREHOUSE

These chairs were made by L & JG Stickley, brothers to Gustav Stickley.  They set up a very successful furniture factory in New York State and produced some of the most iconic furniture designs throughout most of the 20th century.

We sourced these from the famous Wells College in Aurora, New York.  They would have had a box seat, which is a wood frame with chair springs and upholstery.  Though they are all clearly stamped as Stickley, we have not been able to locate any duplicates of this style of chair in the marketplace.  They may have been a special order by the college, as was a common practice at the time.  In our tour through the college’s storehouses many years ago, we discovered the remnants of an entire dorm that was at one time outfitted completely in Stickley single beds, chairs and matching dressers.  What a dream it must have been!
